Jake was born in Bloomington, Indiana.   We were looking for a Vizsla with an excellent temperament that would be versatile and do well in agility, conformation, and especially field/hunt.   His mother, Dart, is what drew us to the litter, she is an amazingly versatile Vizsla and excels in every venue she attempts, with a wonderful temperament to boot.  She consistently places at Nationals in the field, show ring, and agility ring, and is everything we hope Jake becomes.  

Jake is a natural retriever, is serious and focused in the field, and covers a lot of ground on his runs while still working for Mark.   He has never played in the field, even as a puppy, and has a strong work ethic.  He was listed in the top 10 in the field during his puppy career, earned his Junior Hunter title at 7 months old in 4 straight passes and earned his first blue field trial ribbon at only 6 months old.  At 11 months old he earned a Prize 1 in NAVHDA's Natural Ability Test.

Like any Vizsla, he is a big snuggler and lover, preferring to be in a lap if at all possible.  He is extremely affectionate, loves to give kisses, and will attempt to pin you down to do so.  Though he looks serious in pictures, he always has a big smile on his face, it is only when he is sleepy that I can get a photo without a kiss attack on the camera.  He is mellow and laid back, but still a "baby," he has a lot of growing up to do, and we're lucky to be along for the ride!
